I suspect this "same sex marriage" issue has got more to do with some rights they are supposedly not permitted : - right of inheritance - parental custody - visitation right if the spouse in a hospital - maybe medicare and similar health care rights - etc etc I would not know the details, cause I dont belong in that category.
