As a general rule now, a controlling majority of Republicrats are fiscal spendthrifts and Authoritarians.

They (in practice, if not in words) support Bigger government, more centralized power in the federal government (and less rights for individuals or states), endless deficits... and have a 'consume now, let the next generation worry about the bills' mentality.

Most have also abandoned any pretense of supporting Free Trade principles, or the Capitalism of Free Markets. They tend to support Crony Capitalism, with ever-rising subsidies for their largest supporters --- and always stick the taxpayers with the bills, and the Middle Classes with the highest effective taxes.

But, it didn't use to be this way... and perhaps it won't remain this way either:
