In the rush to invade Iraq, Afghanistan has been handed back to the various warlords (Karzai is not President of the country, he is more like mayor of Kabul, or maybe 10 blocks in Kabul!). The warlords are imposing the same kind of restrictions on women that the Taliban had. So, as far as the locals go, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Btw, after the Taliban left, Afghanistan has had a bumper opium crop. So things ARE getting better, it just depends on how you define "better", I guess! And yet, Dumb and Dumber (Blair and Bush) keep saying their nonsense again and again and again.
