Gun control energized the NRA and other 2nd amendment groups. The Assault Weapons Ban will sunset in Sept. 04 and is a pet item for powerful senators like Feinstein and Schumer. It will be difficult to get a new one passed with a Republican majority and their egos are too big to let it go.
