yes - absolutely. I think the trick is for a macro forecast not to cater to shortterm jitter of nervous hands but to look at just the facts.. End of next year the dollar should start to appreciate remarkably in any case - US presidential election will be decided and the need for a weaker dollar by the incumbent will cease to exist. The current year in the US reminds me of 1982 - the 3rd year of Reagan I administration.. the focus is different however - back then the S&P 500 and the DOW, now the NAZ...

I just tuned into the Jap. market and saw how good the fundamental indicators are there. Economy growing again, consumers buying more. Deflation pressures easing..

And some of my portfolio companies providing good results and/or guiding up : NIEC (6974.J), MarusanAI (2551.J), Asahi Softdrinks (2598.J), Showa Denko (4004.J) all received upgrades or hiked their 2004, 2005 projections..

In Japan I attribute much of the current activity to tax loss selling also. Let's see...
