Chris,

I find Stratfor to be quite ideologically motivated these days.

Re: The
Bolivian lowlanders, who are mainly of European descent but also
include indigenous groups, want to disassociate themselves from
radical highland indigenous leaders who would establish an
indigenous form of communistic government that existed in before
the Spanish conquest.

When an analyst can say that tribal organization are "communistic" and use this as an insult to the indigenous peoples, I tend to veiw the analyst as a prejudiced racist.

It is absurd for him to call the corrupt oligarchic governments of Latin America "democracies". They are nothing of the sort. The real democratic governments are precisely the ones the analyst disdains as populist or being interested in re-nationalizing strategic assets. Such as Venezuela, Ecuador and Brazil.

I completely reject this Stratfor analysis. I see it as a thinly masked promotion piece for the corporate exploitation of Latin America's resouces at the expense of indigenous populations.
