Don't pity the PA, they have no shortage of money. The US pays them, the Euros pay them, the Saudis pay them, the UN and the Red Cross feed them. In the last 10 years, they got $15 billion of aid - and that doesn't count what Saudi Arabia gave to Hamas. Of course, Arafat steals half of it, so it doesn't go very far. The purpose of the UN is to be involved in these disputes Judging from results, the purpose of the UN is to create more and more "refugees" in perpetuity unto the nth generation, and to turn a blind eye to terrorism. The UN has done PLENTY to make the situation intractable and NOTHING to help solve it.
