I got such a kick out of that story. Perhaps the lesson for Bush is about the wisdom of the separation of church and state.

It was gratifying, though, to see this comment: "We should always remember that he is commander in chief, not theologian in chief..." Perhaps this experience is instructive for the theocrats, as well. It's great to mix church and state when the theologian in chief subscribes to your theology, not much fun when he doesn't.
