But the fact of the matter is during the Clinton years we had prosperity, we were not that affected by terror, we had the respect of the world and the cooperation of the world intelligence community. And here comes Bush and within 9 short months we had the WTC attack. He took off for a Texas vacation, the US let off its guard which it maintained during Clinton years and lo and behold the terrorists struck

This is like saying that English policies before 1939 were a shining success because they didn't have to pay much for their military expenditures and that Hitler fella hardly bothered them at all.

Give me a break. Osama bin Laden began planning 9/11 in 1996. He declared war on the US in 1998. Clinton muffed a chance to catch Osama, courtesy of the Sudanese government, in 1998. These are uncontested facts.
