RtS, Based on your prodding, I went back to look at all the stocks on a weekly basis. Based on this review(as well as reviewing the weekly tabular data), it looked to me that the Group had a "change in character" since the early part of September. Therefore, it was relatively easy to pick the week ending on 5 September and compare it to this past Friday's close.
At the bottom line it shows the Group with only a 2 percent gain over this 11 week period. The SOX is up 9 percent while the NASDAQ is up 2 percent. Within the Group, however, there is a large spread from top to bottom. Leading the Group is MTSN with a 90 percent gain while in last place, PLAB resides with a 28 percent loss.
The performance of the four stocks included in the SOX, TER, NVLS, AMAT and KLAC, are at +18, +9, +8 and -5 percent respectively. Getting back to the stocks you like, MTSN and CMOS, over this period, MTSN is in 1st place with a 90 percent gain, and CMOS is in 6th place with a 19 percent gain. Are they going to continue this "red hot" performance, or is "rotation" going to continue in the Group over the next 11 week period to come up with a much different "sort". I would bet there will be considerable movement within the Group.
