A second Saudi cleric detained for promoting Muslim militancy this year took to the airwaves on Saturday to announce his repentance and condemn as “sinful” attacks against Muslims and non-Muslims in Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Nasser al-Fahd, in a primetime interview broadcast on Saudi state television, also warned Saudi youth against going to Iraq to wage holy war against US-led occupying forces. Fahd’s turnaround echoed a similar retraction by Sheikh Ali al-Khodeir five days ago. —Reuters
