Unfortunate Soros ignores the events in Europe - may be some one would remind him that he fled for his life form Hungary or otherwise he had been sent to a Nazi concentration camps and possible facing his end in the gas chambers.

Soros would be perfectly right if Europe for example would have smarted from WWI and WWII. Unfortunate I can not confirm that.

The nationalistic feelings are still alive in Europe and more so in France, Germany etc. it is obvious from recent events and one clear example would be the European "soccer matches" were brutality based on nationalistic roots prevails with the fans.

If Europe would be a real "free and open society" as Soros preaches I would fully agree with him. But Europe is still manipulated by the old "Nationalistic Elite" and the freedom of choice and equal rights and transparence are a far cry from the what we have in the US.

This is reminiscent of George Orwell's Animal Farm: all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. ........ Does the political elite in Europe act differently - has he ever heard the French talking about France ? What is Soros smoking ??

No one without the right connection to the "Nationalistic Elite" in Europe could even dream to be elected in public office. I did not agree with the way Bush was elected by the Supreme Court but one should also remember who brought him to power ---- and my opinion of them is not fit for posting on SI ..... lets only say that James B. is one of the group

Further I would ask Soros a simple question - If not for US hospitality and freedom would he achieve the same wealth and status in Europe? The problem with Soros is that in the US he is treated as another smart and rich man ......but that is not enough for his EGO ...... so he went to Europe to the same people who cared less if he will end up in a gas chamber and plays statesman.

More interesting is the fact that his former partner Jimy Rogers is happy with what he achieved and does not search new headlines and political grand standing …….. Soros recent behavior makes me very sad he sticks his nose were it does not belong ……. and sadly giving Mahahtir of Malaysia a reason to spread his theory of hatred
