I am not arguing that the republicans are trying to spin dean as a socialist. The problem is that with Bush's horrible fiscal record, and Dean's pristine one, it is a bit of a hard sell. And if republicans want to convince the voter that free market economics and trickle down work for mom and pop, and Dean who is against trickle down tax cuts and abusive trade policies is a socialist, let them try.
