No doubts we will be the planets counterterrorism force for the next 20 years.

I should have known someone would think I was serious. A lot of SF guys are going to private industry. Think "Robert Heinlein."

Your previous post about "Fair wages" got to me. I see this term all the time, and it is meaningless. The only "fair wage" is what a willing employer and employee are settle on. Anything else is a Union concept. Wal Mart makes no bones about not expecting someone to support a wife and three kids on what they pay. And no one is "entitled" to that type of paycheck, IMO. You are worth what people will pay for you.

My father was erecting a Boiler in East St Louis for a power plant in the 30s-worked for B&W-and was approached by a foreman he knew who asked for the job. When Dad said, "What about the Business Agent?" the guy told him, "we will take care of that." During the first week when the Agent showed up with his gang, the Foreman and his men "dropped tools" and picked up clubs. That was the end of it. Over a period of 30 years, not one Boilermakers Business Agent in East St Louis lived through office.

People today have no idea.
