and this happened in northern iraq which was so far considered a safe place for us troops as it was under kurdish control. apparently the 4 suicide bombers in turkey were also kurdish citizens of turkey. i think the "only in suni triangle" story is not holding water anymore.

Most of what this adminstration says is a distortion of the truth or a outright lie:

WMDs, al Qaeda links, the war was over 1 May, the Iraqis love us, the Sunni triangle, the insurgents are unorganized Ba'thists, Saddam bought uranium, things are getting better in Iraq, etc.

the last shoe to drop would be the start of conflicts with the shiite groups in southern iraq. if that happens, watch for iran to get drawn into this too. especially given the rhetoric of this administration towards that country. i am slowly starting to believe that they are looking for an all out turmoil in me not just iraq. god help us all if it gets to that.

The shoe has already dropped. An extremist Shiite religious leader recently condemned the US presence in the country and the Brit. are experiencing more and more attacks in Basrah.......the S. Iraqi city. I believe the fatal attack on the Italians was in the southern/Shiite city of Nassiriya.

What burns me is that the administration tried to shut up the mainstream media by accusing them of only presenting the bad side of things in Iraq and ignoring the good........as it turns out, more right wing propaganda. As if we all are that stupid.

There's more double speak going on this country than went on in the USSR.
