The most liberal democrats who leaned Nader but were torn about Gore all back Dean now. Liike Martin Sheen and Rob Reiner types. Nader only got 5% of the vote or so. Dean can get maximum 35% of the Dem vote if he gets to the convention.

The other five major candidates together can blow dean away no matter what. The question will be who bows out first, second and third then who rallies around the survivor(s) or AL Gore. Anything to stop dean because anything to beat Bush. Dean cannot beat Bush.

All polls show that and I knew it months ago. A friend of mine is Dean's lieutenant in Vermont. He's a frigging idealistic post-hippy nice guy idealist who never faced a serious issue in his life. That mentality cannot beat Bush nationally. Ever. He may do better than Dukakis but not much better. That's being optimistic.

If you want to beat Bush listen to Clinton, Biden, Feinstein, Bill Maher, Gary Hart, Harold Ford, etc. Those wise people know what they are up against. Deanies don't seem to realize it. They are in fantasy land. If you cannot take away at least a third of Bush's pro-military vote you lose. No Greens or college types will make the difference. Only Kerry, Clark and Gore can do that. So they are the three who matter. Maybe Edwards as a VP to Clark, maybe. But none of the others. This is serious business. Our future is at stake.
