Jews and Arabs (Christian and Moslem) have a long history of living together in relative peace. It is the Ashkenazis from Europe who have created most of the dissension, even amongst the Sephardim. What the Westerners brought was technology and an industrial mind-set, which in itself is not a bad thing. It is the political and economic aspect that has tainted the events.

During Moslems "golden age" the Jews were neighbors and fellow Middle Easterners, not Zionists.
