Well, I suppose that one answer --- out of two questions --- is a pretty good batting average for dealing with you.
Anyway, you say a 'child' begins at 'conception'... so IUDs, the 'morning-after pill', and many other birth control devices that work by preventing implantation are a problem for you. So would many personal choices that people make, such as smoking, drinking, excessive dieting, etc. --- as these actions might serve to decrease the odds of successful implantation.
Is prevention of implantation 'murder'... or, something less?
If "Crime is deliberately inflicting harm on another", and from fertilization on you believe that we are dealing with a 'child'... then how could you possibly believe that a mother smoking or drinking (or dieting to excess, or marathon running, or weighing in a 300 pounds, or working in any workplace where mutagenic chemicals such as benzene are in use --- or maybe even just filling up the family SUV, etc., etc.) isn't engaging in a 'crime'?
How would you prevent this? |
