The concern aren't that there may be radicalized people, no doubt there are, and an increasing number as these issues are made more polarized. The concern is the temptation to invent them, as seen in the discredited COINTELPRO days. It is a truism that anytime gov't gives itself extreme powers over citizens, it will use them.

If there were a mandate to follow the Bill of Rights, judicial review and full disclosure, that would be an antidote to those abuses.
