Tim, I think you are overly optomistic. Why should Fujitsu care if Ross gets delisted? They've already pumped more money into this sinking ship than seems reasonable. So what if they get delisted. If Fujitsu really wants this company for Viper technology, they already own it. The last cash infusion gave them all rights as I read it.

So, if I was Fujitsu i would do one of the following;

A) Let the company really hit bottom (if it hasn't already) and then buy it all. If RTEC is delisted off NASDAQ entirely, it still trades but it's not as liquid. Maybe the price goes to .50 or less. They'll offer you a dollar and you'll feel lucky.

B) Why buy it at all? They could bankrupt the company and as the main creditor, they can claim all the assets and with the last cash infusion for Viper development, they already own rights to designs. Why not take a tax loss and get on to more productive business?

C) Save the day and protect all the little share holders.

So, besides the hopes for Viper, what is keeping the Ross story going? They have lost major customers ("might be interested in getting back Sun"?, they died when Sun dumped them) and they don't have a winning product or marketing plan in place. They sound more or less like a Fujitsu design group.

I am seriously thinking of taking a tax loss for RTEC because I think that will be the greatest return I'll get. My only hope is that Fujitsu plans to aquire RTEC as they did with Amdahl on some overall strategy. I didn't follow Amdahl, but I heard it was a good turn around story, with a strong position in the mainframe market and interesting software products. It sounds like a much stronger investment than RTEC.
