I have no problem with the idea of reducing or eliminating our military presence in S. Korea. It would ideally be managed in a way that does not look to the North as if we are pulling back in response to any aggressive rhetoric or action on their part, which would send an unfortunate signal.

In short, a worthy medium term objective that will have to be managed with care and a degree of diplomacy.

I wonder why they are still speaking in terms of “how to dissuade North Korea from acquiring nuclear weapons.” Isn’t that pretty much an accomplished fact?
