ET Smith Barney downgrades Semi and Semi Equip groups : Smith Barney trims weighting on the Semiconductor and Semi Equipment industry groups to Market Weight from Overweight after a more than 92% gain yr-to-date. Firm indicates that its proprietary Semi-Indicator is now flashing caution after Oct semi capital equipment orders jumped 12% yr-over-yr. Believes that as new production capacity comes on line, chip pricing may falter and upward earnings revisions trends may slip; thinks valuation concerns could become pronounced if earnings momentum slows.
