I spoke to Schmitt today about their new hard disk product. According to the person who handles investor relations, Linda Case, the hard disk product made by Schmitt does not compete directly with the hard disk product made by QC Optics. She said that Schmitt's product measures surface roughness while QC Optics' product is for particle defect detection. A company would not have to choose one product or the other - they can use both.

In addition, I got the feeling that the people who run Schmitt are impressed by QC Optics and its hard disk product. Thus, I am more optimistic than ever about QC Optics.

I am also going to start following Schmitt, since they are also doing very well and have some great products. And I was very impressed with Linda Case. All companies should have an investor relations contact like her.
