We had 400K jobs/month under Clinton early on with 4% GDP if I recall correctly.

I don't think the Bush admin is doing this deliberately actually, because at this point, trumpeting obvious misinformation like this is a negative. But some of these statistics are off due to all the globalization. I know productivity metrics are broken. Whatever it is with the GDP, they need to fix it before AG raises rates and squishes the actual 3% GDP that we do have down to recession again.
