Ray: It's the American people that turned Walmart into a powerhouse. Given the choices many years back of higher priced American made goods and cheap foreign goods. The people overwhelmingly choose imports. The industrial revolution is over. I accept the outcome, there will be no new $30/hr. machinist jobs in the service economy. IMO- Service and technology will pick up the slack. Someday those Chinese workers will want more of what there making for the rest of the world. Americans who want more will start up there own companies (goods and services) over here and find a niche. 401-ks and profit sharing will be replacing the pension plan. Most Americans are not quitters they will adapt to change. Especially when they can keep more of their own hard earned money. What big businesses are waiting to invest long term treasuries at todays interests rates? I would think they would rather capital spend profits back into their businesses.
