NB Digital Signs New DVD Movie Title Agreement

BUSINESS WIRE
Mon, Aug 11 1997

CROFTON, Md.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Aug. 11, 1997--NB Digital Solutions (NBDS), the industry's leading DVD-Video and DVD-ROM title developer, Monday announced that it has been chosen by Elite Entertainment, one of the leading publishers of classic films on laserdisc, to author at least 10 new DVD-Video movie titles for the consumer market. The development agreement calls for 10 titles to be released over the next 18 months with perhaps as many as 36 titles overall.

"We wanted to find a partner in the DVD business who we could feel comfortable with and whose primary concern was producing a quality product," said Vini Bancalari, president of Elite Entertainment. "It was very evident from the beginning of our partnership that NB Digital Solutions could provide significant talent and experience while offering us the kind of personalized service and support we couldn't find anywhere else."

According to Ralph LaBarge, NB Digital president, the firm's latest authoring contract reflects the increasing popularity of the DVD-Video format. "We have seen a dramatic upsurge in DVD-video activity and expect that market demand will compel movie studios to release more titles. Content owners like Elite Entertainment are fueling this demand by increasing the total number of titles available nationwide, LaBarge explained.

"The consumer market is very receptive to DVD technology and wants a wider selection of titles. NB Digital is one of the few organizations capable of providing high quality, cost effective DVD title conversion services and we are pleased that Elite Entertainment recognized our expertise."

In addition to consumer-oriented DVD-Video titles, NBDS also develops DVD-ROM titles for the interactive multimedia presentation and corporate training marketplaces. LaBarge believes that DVD software content will not be limited to major movies, making other market segments prime candidates for DVD title development.

For example, NBDS is authoring three Windows 95 training titles in the DVD-ROM format using content from WinStruct Inc. These titles will be released in time to coincide with the availability of DVD-ROM-enabled personal computers. Other companies employing NBDS marketing presentations include Nike, Toshiba, Fannie Mae and Zodiac Boats.

With headquarters in Rockaway, N.J., Elite Entertainment Inc. was founded in 1994 to fill a need in the laserdisc marketplace for classic films, particularly in the horror genre. Commencing with the classic Night of the Living Dead, the company has released a succession of classic films on laserdisc including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and A Nightmare on Elm Street, among others. Recently, Elite released a package of 14 films from the Hammer Film library. The company will soon enter the DVD marketplace with some of their current catalog titles as well as with new titles.

Information about NBDS development services is available on the company's Web site at www.nbdig.com, by email at info@nbdig.com, via fax at 410/721-5726 or phone at 410/721-5725. The company is located at 2110 Priest Bridge Dr., Suite 1, Crofton, MD 21114.

Established in 1986, NB Digital Solutions is a leading provider of off-line digital video compression, custom multimedia application development, and CD-ROM and DVD authoring services. NBDS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Enhanced Services Company Inc., (NASDAQ: ESVS) with headquarters in Houston, Texas.
