What's interesting is that people in Shrub's employ keep saying that he's running the White House. Why do they have to keep defending him if it's true?

Cheney is likely the most powerful VP in the history of the country. He gets involved on the issues in great detail, surprising the CIA by visiting the analysts and intimidating them to find anti-Iraqi facts for him to use. Unprecedented behavior for a veep. Cheney has a very dark view of the world and sees enemies everywhere.

Now the Iraqis are pushing for national elections and the admin is frightened of them? If the Iraqis vote in a religious leader, that's up to them and the admin is just going to have to put up with it.

Unintended consequences of going forward without a clue.
