Unfortunalty for Microsoft.. java belongs to SUN. With Netscape haveing to 100% java browser in the works and java being utilized more and more withing the workings of the internet... java has an outside chance of being the dominating factor with regards to the future of the internet. A java NC machine would give the user maximum speed at a very limited cost. Java in other words is still the potential fly in the ointment for uncle billy. With Apple being less and less of a competitve factor one can make a case for SUNS java being the last stand when it comes to a alternative operating system. As they say... some of the greatest plans of mice and men.... Patriots technology is theirs... they own it... just like SUN owns Java. Microsoft controls the operating system market with regards to the PC.. the browser market to a larger and larger degree .. word publishing with Word the speadsheet market of corporate America with Excel and web publishing to a degree with front Page.. Every new concept such as Web TV ... they have shown they just buy. there is liitle they dont control or have their fingers in big time.. Every aspect of PC computing in one fashion or form they control to a large degree.. there are very few area's they DON"T control.. Java being one..
