Dear Antonios:
I was able to contact Natalie Karp at Vasomedical and received important information. She says the financial report will be published this week. She also said a presentation will be made to the American Heart Asociation late this year. She said the results will not be published until early 1998 at which time it should have a significant effect on the value of the stock. She said that they have not yet received a guarantee of payment by insurance companies. But she said that at the present time claims are being made by individuals almost all of which are being reimbursed. She said the obvious incentive is the reduced cost to the insurer. I questioned her about the criticism of an advertisement that appeared on SI. She said that the usual way of referrring to FDA is with the use of the word clearance. She said Vaso has received clearance from the FDA. She also told me to find on the Web information from the American Heart Association in which they approve of the treatment. Last, I questioned her about SECP. She said it is very new, that cosmetically is is attractive, but that they have had a considerable number of problems in the limited amount of testing they have done. She said they have not undertaken the kind of thorough study that has been completed by Vaso. Obviously, she speaks from a predjudiced point of view with regard to SECP, but what she said seemed to make sense. We both agreed that with Vasomedical's head start, SECP did not apprear to pose an immediate threat. Natalie Karp apologized for the length of time it took for her to respond. She said they are besieged with calls. She promised to send me by email any signigicant information which she gave me permission share on SI.
Kindest regards,
Don
