This morning the most popular local TV station in central NC has put a 100% positive look on the story of the GWB visit to the troops.

They also are featuring a soldier's homecoming this morning.

At my sister's annual Thanksgiving feast yesterday, I got to spend and hour with a USMC LT Platoon Leader who had been with the lead Bn during the attack. He told continuous stories of bravery, heroism and great concern for the enemy soldiers in the most matter-of-fact manner. His dad, a West Point grad, and a family friend was also present. You would have loved the banter back and forth between the two. The LT is headed to Okinawa and probable combat duty in the Philippines.

As I was leaving, my dad, a WWII vet and lifelong demo, commented on the LT's stories. He said, "The war in Iraq may be seen by many as different, but if you listen to the soldiers who are fighting it, it is just war." He then said, "I thought I could vote for Kerry, but I can't. I can't vote for any of the democrats running except Lieberman and he is not going to be the nominee. If Bush has the balls to visit the troops in the combat zone, I can vote for him to finish the job."

I said thanks for the insight pop, let's have coffee this weekend and discuss this further.

Maybe...just maybe, a nut has been cracked and a new unified viewpoint is on the horizon in spite of the media left.
