Like it or not, you guys are going to get an occasional film review along with the politics. I was afraid the new Tom Cruise movie would not be good, but this script reviewer gives me hope. Here is the summary and the URL.

.......I've noticed a recurring theme in Logan's work – that of the outsider. Whether it's maverick filmmaker Orson Welles in RKO281, the villainous Shinzon in Nemesis, or the time traveler amongst the Eloi in The Time Machine, Logan excels at depicting the loner at odds with his surroundings. The Last Samurai is a further exploration of this theme. The story's "white man living amongst the natives" plot made me want to rename this tale Dances with Samurai, and my gut tells me that fortune will shine upon this film as it did that Oscar-winning Western epic.

The Last Samurai is a rousing adventure yarn, an intriguing commentary on a key turning point in the history of Japan and its relationship with the United States, as well as an enlightening lesson on Japanese culture and the titular samurai. I simply can't wait to see this film.
