Areas of the globe divided up into countries by outsiders (North VietNam/South VietNam vs. division of the Ottoman empire), surrounding ethnic groups gather in the militarily occupied country to cause havoc, occupying force cannot install a trustworthy government, why did a ‘liberating’ force just destroy my house? Just read a letter to the editor of Newsweek magazine in response to the article on Cheney in which he blames the intelligence community for the guffaws in Iraq, the reader writes: Perhaps if Dick Cheney’s “OTHER PRIORITIES” during VietNan had been side-tracked by his being drafted like those of us who served, he would know it was not the intelligence community that failed up; it was the politicians.
