Kerry, Clark or Gore could beat Bush. Bush is very vulnerable except to a less-than-manly too-liberal candidate like Dean.

The firewalls against Dean are very real. That is why the Bush re-election campaign is focusing on Kerry first, then Clark. They are leaving Dean alone hoping he gets nominated.

For now, everyone seems to have forgotten about Gore. Gore-Clark would beat Bush-Cheney fairly handily, though no matter who runs it will be a tough nasty fight. Bush has 200+ million to wage a carpet-bombing disinformation campaign. He started last week with his air-brushed digitally manipulated ad correcting his botched line during the State of the Union.

According to recent polls, Bush cannot be secure about more than 38% voting for hm. One poll even showed 29%. Some 20% in the middle are undecided and independent swing-voters are very leery of Bush now. In Ohio 160,000 jobs have been lost under Bush. No president has ever been re-elected with jobs lost during his term. Bush has presided over about 2.5 million lost. Also Bush's rampant spending and reckless nation building have turned off a lot of traditional conservatives.
