Cheyney, Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld were writing policy papers for "The Project for the New American Century" that included an invasion of Iraq as early as 1996, WAY before the twin towers were brought down. I wasn't paying attention then, and just regarded them as a few wingnut cranks. When Bush started warmongering for Iraq after Afghanistan, I kinda did a double-take "Huh!?", when the hell did Iraq get on the agenda? It's clear now that he redirected America's shock and anger to promote the neocon agenda, clean up Poppy's mess, and avenge the attempt on Poppy's life. It works for his oil buddys as well.
