If this is a typical bear-market in US dollar, it should last at least upto 2007. The fair value for the dollar index is said to be 70-72 (high was 120, now at 90). But as happens invariably in bear-markets, it will go lower than fair value (which itself might keep falling given the enormous debts that we keep adding every year). I would expect to see it around 50-55 by the time it's all over. And that's the most optimistic outlook that I can think of.
