I'm not sure that Bush is much different from any other President. Most leaders throughout recent history are front men, reading scripts put together by their advisers. It's just a fact of life. One can only get elected by delegating. Carter was probably the most honest and hands on President and he failed miserably. RR read lines and will go down in history as having dismantled the Evil Empire.

You may not like him but your criticism comes across as sour grapes.

There is no doubt in my mind that Clinton would be exactly where Bush is and that Republicans would be critical of him, saying much the same that Democrats are saying about Bush.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. Every rationale person knows that we are in a war against OBL and his fanatics. The American people will support the President irrespective of whether they think he is bright or stupid and that's good.

I'd love to see better politicians and leaders. HOwever, when most of the criticism is from people who have no answers at the best and from those who believe that there are little green men behind everything at worst, it only assures that Bush will get re-elected and that deception will carry the day.
