MSI,

Oh goodie, two of my favorite campaign thugs, LindyBill and Dan Balz. What a pair of operatives.

I had an interesting moment last week when checking for traction on local organizing via MeetUp.com.

meetup.com

Dean currently has 147,100 activists signed up. He's signed up 4,000 people since last Tuesday. Almost 1,000 new people per day.

OTOH, George Bush has a total of 1,900 people signed up as of today.

I don't doubt but what the Bushies are working a different channel, but I do find the numbers for Dean quite encouraging here.

Re: I think the best treat for smiling and scripted GOP minions should be a serious deprogramming effort.

Invite them in for coffee, hand them some information that spells out the truth.

I'd be open for some suggestions on what "some information" ought to consist of. I'm considering doing some leafleting as well, and getting the right message out to "Independents" will make all the difference in this coming election. It looks like the voter turnout may be heavier in 2004 than it has been in decades, if the anger and hostility on both sides is maintained throughout the campaign.
