Bringing Broadband Telephony to the MSO

Cable telephony has long been touted as the next wave of communication. Yet while companies such as Liberty Cablevision have already taken the lead into cable telephony, many other MSOs are still weighing their options. There are several options available to MSOs who are looking to enter the telephony market including hosted telephony solutions as well building the telephony service networks themselves. Our session will weigh the business opportunities and the challenges that face the MSOs looking to enter the telephony market.

· What are the costs associated with an outsourced cable telephony solution?

· What is the necessary technological implementation for entering the telephony space?

· How can legacy systems be combined with new upgrades to offer telephony service?

· How has regulatory issues affected the growth and adoption rate of cable telephony?

· What are the barriers to customer adoption of cable telephony service?

· What service and product features are most attractive to customers, and what are surprisingly not important to customers?
