I think my favorite sources are foreign, actually.
I get my jollies from the Mirror.UK. I'm also checking out the Independent and the Guardian on a daily basis. And the Scotland Sunday Herald is usually worth checking out. Neil Mackay there is doing some terrific stuff on PNAC and 9/11.
I've soured a bit on the Guardian lately. I'm sensing a bit of, um, obsequiousness to evil in their editorial direction. They published a very unuseful "poll" the day before the Thief-In-Chief started destroying Queen Liz's gardens. They sandbagged the British public, as far as I can tell and gave Bush a much better "hail fellow, well met" sort of kindness than that criminal deserves.
From France, I pretty much limit myself to Le Monde and Paris Match and occasionally Le Figaro.
From Italy, I haven't found anything I like. I loathe Corriere della Sera. It seems like a propaganda organ for the CIA. Do you happen to know the ownership? It's Italy's largest daily. I believe it is owned by Berlusconi, but I haven't confirmed this.
From Germany, I pay some attention to Taz, Die Tageszeitung and Die Ziet.
From Russia, the Moscow Times is useful.
From the Middle East, al Jazeera and Ha'aretz.
From Asia, the very best thing, IMHO, is the Asia Times. Their reporter Pepe Escobar is one of my favorite journalists in the world.
