I seriously doubt it, for Wi-MAX is designed specifically for a Multipoint Metropolitan Environment .

I like, and use analogies, but the thought that Radio
Waves bounce or glance off solid objects as do cannon balls
is too flawed to be useful , when looking at what makes
Wideband OFDM tick.

Rather, I suggest the tuning fork analogy , and think of
the building surface as consisting of Electro-Magnetic
Tuning forks (actually zillions of antennae) which
set up sympathetic electro-magnetic vibrations ...

These vibrations (the continuous transfer of energy
between electromagnetic (E)
and static-electric(H) fields....
result in ...

the re-radiation of the same sub-carrier that has been
intercepted by the building surface.

Now when this sub-carrier finally gets to the recieve
antenna and radio,....

it has been shifted in phase (time) , so that it does not coincide with the arrival time and phase of other sub-carriers.

Thus we have multipath distortion.

As far as I can tell, the training signal technique
is used to get all of mixed up sub-carriers back
in coincidence,
so that data can be accurately extracted
from this combination of received sub-carriers.
