Re: "Fair trade is not a scheme, in fact, fair trade is essential for the health of the United States, as well as for our national security..."

Ok...that's an opinion.

Re: "In any case, it is far too late for that now with China, as it is becoming increasingly apparent the leadership will not change enough to prevent a major military confrontation with us within the next 25 years or so"

Defeatism, on your part. It doesn't show Free Trade won't work. That's 25 years for Free Trade to work. I think it can help.

Re: "And my priority is not to lift more Chinese citizens out of poverty while throwing American citizens into poverty...."

I should HOPE not! I of course showed you that both the Chinese AND Americans would be lifted by Free Trade.

Re: ".....but to do what is best for our future national security..."

Agreed.

Re: "your so-called "free trade" is totally blind to most unfortunately for our kids and future generations"

Nafta may be thought of as "so-called" Free Trade. But Free Trade is what it is. Period. Free trade, as I've noted, promotes communications and civil associations between countries, and therefore proves essential to understanding and peace. You haven't touched upon any attempt to refute this argument, but have ignored it while re-stating your belief.

Free Trade is actually a race to the top. I like my approach using your "race to the bottom," because it showed so clearly how the poor are lifted with Jobs and inexpensive goods. Yes, Free Trade does represent a race to the top.
