UPS must stand firm against the Teamsters tactics. "Part time work" is a straw dog used for PR hype while the real issue is the union attempting to gain control of the pension funds. Also, yelling about the poor abused workers deflects attention from recent questionable union election results. If the Teamster officials thought the contract offer truly inadequate, they would allow their members to vote on it, with a firm rejection strengthening their position. What are they afraid of? Time for UPS to start hiring replacement workers. Of course if the pilots strike over their contract in a few weeks, that just compounds the mess.
