Just heard the news about bustin up the ambush...coupla thoughts.

1. The enemy is emboldened. An ambush by over 50 is very very large in this type of incident and terrain. And it works to our advantage. The larger the enemy concentrated force the better we like it.

2. Counter ambush techniques require exceptional skill levels and a brave heart. The techniques practised are called IA drills or immediate action drills. I always said the bravest thing a man can do is expose himself to enemy fire to place a well aimed shot. It takes even more bravery to attack directly into the fire that is aimed at you from close range, yet that is exactly what it takes to break an ambush.

It sounds like the troops are learning counter ambush skills well. Today's action will do wonders to reinforce the effectiveness of IA drills on our troops. It will do serious damage to our enemy's morale.
