Matthew - Glad to see a Lurker speak their mind.
I can understand why your heading back into lurk mode. Drop me a line anytime.
One of the problems I see is many of the investors in Amati who shell out bucks on the stock, won't part with a few bucks to head to one of the Shows such as N+I, Supercomm, Comdex, and talk to Amati Officers. You can gain a whole different insight by doing so. No interpretations of PR, or of third party comments, Face to Face Facts, where you can hear the passion and confidence implied. Plus if you have the right questions, you hear answers you never heard before.
After such an experience one can just respond to these people bending the truth by replying with a simple laugh and a <g>.
Problem is there are not enough of people out there who have had this experience. Therefore many of those who have, feel the need to speak-up and fight these people with hidden agendas or just plain warped minds, or who for whatever reason are out there bending the truth.
I hope more will get out to these events and talk to the management.
I have done my share of lashing out, with the multiple heads of 96, and others who try to distort the facts, it's hard to let these types just go with out comment.
When you give them an inch (trying to be cordial) they take it and run. Throwing you a Jab that makes you want to scream at times and many times I bite at the Bait.
And I'm not cordial when I know the intentions are not accidental.
An example is my recent post (#22303) to Bill C. Now Bill has been around since early 96, and I enjoy and respect some of his posts which have very vaild information and insights, yet he seems steadfast at distorting DMT facts from time to time. Since he has been around a while, it is obvious he know the true facts.
Bill -
I enjoy your viewpoints, I thought I'd comment on this one.
If Westell is dependent upon just the MOT CG Chip for ADSL/DMT then there are a number of factors that separate the two. The CG Chip, is based on ADSL/DMT in 1995.( I have not seen or heard of any new agreements between Amati & MOT, though something could be there).
As we know Amati has a number of enhancements, and the CG Line Code is fixed and is not programmable as is the TI C6X, the TI C6X Amati Enhanced version, or the future Amati/LSI Chip.
Keep up the great work. JW@KSC
In his Reply post #22309 he says
The initial theories behind DMT "I think" came from Bell Core/Bell Labs. Granted AMTX does have the patents on key parts of the standard, I see no reason to believe that MOT needs AMTX to improve the line code. I could be wrong on this, but I haven't seen anything that indicates the opposite is true. AMTX isn't the only vendor that understands DMT line code. USRX is implementing DMT on the TI solution.
Did you catch it Matthew?
DMT came from Bell Labs ? Notice the "I Think".
I did not respond. By the time I found the time to respond, the thread had enough fires lit.
So let me take a moment to cordially let Bill C. know "I think" he's wrong, and also tell him to get a handle on USRX idea of it's first ADSL/DMT products and speeds.
Again I fully understand why you are a lurker Matthew, it very easy to sit back and throw out the CR_P, and absorbe the facts, and I don't fault you one bit.
