Jay - While in the Bay Area, see if you can do a test drive on the 2nd generation Toyota Prius, the gasoline-electric hybrid. Very smooth, reasonalble room. Amazing to get all that complexity working smoothly for a base price of USD 21,800.
There is a big overhang of luxury cars in the Bay Area, and anything over about 3-5 years old is dropping in price...
Especially previous model 500 & 600 Mercedes, Porsche Boxsters, and giant SUVs. The Bay Area has many more first buyers of expensive to maintain luxury vehicles than second purchasers. The second buyers want 4 door middle line Mercede, Toyotas, etc. for families, and they also want low gasoline bills.
Another store that's interesting are the EXPO stores associated with Home Depots - huge selctions of appliances , furniture , super kitchens, etc.
I would not advise bringing a wife / girlfriend on this trip, unless you have a BIG wallet....;-) |
