I believe the "gospel age" and the "new heaven and earth" are the same thing.
Isaiah 65:17 For, behold me! Creating new heavens,
and a new earth,—And the former shall not be mentioned,
neither shall they come up on the heart,
Isaiah 66:22 For, as the new heavens and the new earth,
which I am about to make, are to remain before me, Declareth Yahweh,
So, shall remain your seed and your name.
2 Peter 3:13 But, new heavens, and a new earth, according to his promise, (by the mouth of Isaiah - BV)
are we expecting, wherein, righteousness, is to dwell.
Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
You are right Alan I do believe that the "elect" are spiritual Israel (a nation within the nations)
I also however believe the nations (carnal) are called to obey Christ.
Jeremiah said that Israel would never depart from the earth.
Paul however teaches that true Israel are the elect.
I believe in the gospel age we see Israel scattered among the nations
but what is called Israel today is nothing - they reject Christ out of hand.
I could not call the nation of Israel today - God's chosen people
they will not be converting the Muslems to Christ - trust me.
There is no healing in carnal Israel for any nation.
It is sad to see the west support ehm and allow them to
break all the rules build nuclear missiles etc because
many think they are still the apple of God's eye.
Is it any wonder other nations are outraged at the iniquity
of the USA telling them they can not do what Israel openly does
without reproof from the Western nations?
Western Christians need to wake up to the fact that Israel is not their friend.
They do not accept that Christ as the messiah at all.
The election of Israel as a nation was to serve a purpose
that purpose is fulfilled in Christ - all nations are equal to God
No nation is favour above another - there is no more SEA.
