While I am in the last few years of my career ( 54 next month), I still keep up to date with latest technology and am always learning new things, that plus not whining when things get a little rough have kept me gainfully employed for many years. I was laid off in 1988, but that was a major learning experience for me and made me realize that NOTHING is guaranteed. Individual effort and a positive attitude can work wonders, though. So what if people have to work in low paying jobs for a while, I did and it just made me appreciate the good job I got later much more. Too many spoiled brats in this country, IMO.
