Very true. But as one contemplating such a move (and free to do it since i'm one of the handful of american's without a nickel of debt), i have spent much time debating the security of a steady paycheck versus the feeling that 'every day at work was another day in my life wasted'.

Next year my youngest leaves for college, so it's the right time to just do it - and never look back.
