Seriously are your engineering friends getting jobs out there? Got any real anecdotal evidence to share? I think engineering, as a profession is being offshored and the people that were engineers are going to have to go into retail, this is all industries not just tech. Thats what DuPOnt chemical is doing,

The plan also includes $500 million in cost cuts from the reorganization of staff, support services and manufacturing operations, and a $200 million improvement in margins from the consolidation of product lines.

The Wilmington, Delaware, company also said it plans to focus more on emerging markets -- specifically China, Central and Eastern Europe and Brazil -- and expects much of its growth to come from there.

The company already runs research and manufacturing plants in China, where it has invested more than $700 million and employs 3,000 workers. DuPont is looking to expand from the country's eastern coast into the inner provinces, where it wants to accelerate marketing and technical services to customers.
