Hi brent. Here is Mark 3:29 from 3 different literal translations:

Concordant Literal New Testament:

29 yet whoever should be blaspheming against the Holy Spirit is having no pardon for the eon, but is liable to the eonian penalty for the sin" -- Again, no pardon for the eon or age.

Rotherham's Emphasized Bible:

29 But whosoever shall revile against the Holy Spirit Hath no forgiveness, unto times age abiding, but is guilty of an age abiding sin. Only for the age.

Young's Literal Translation:

29 but whoever may speak evil in regard to the Holy Spirit hath not forgiveness-to the age, but is in danger of age-during judgment. Again, age related only.

The KJV and others have translated aion as "world", "ever", "never", "eternal", "forever", and even "saint". No wonder people are confused about God.

To make matters worse, they change the end of the verse which says "eonian penalty for the sin" or :age abiding sin" or "age during judgment" into "eternal damnation". "Judgment" is one thing, but "eternal damnation" completely misses the intent of the Spirit here.

According to Isaiah, (26:9) "when God's judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants will learn righteousness". God's judgments are corrective. We will all be judged for our actions, but from the judging, we will all learn righteousness.

Thanks for the response Brent.
